A cycling craze could well be brewing as the OCBC Cycle Singapore comes back to town. With a spectacular list of activities, the event promises something for both cyclists and spectators alike.

The 2011 edition of the OCBC Cycle will feature the first ever professional night race, races for casual and more serious cyclists, a category for children, and a music festival featuring local acts.

"The night race for professional cyclists and the wide range of fringe activities will open the door for more people to discover the joy of cycling in Singapore," said Mr David Voth, Senior Director, Sports Marketing Group, Singapore Sports Council.

"This is in line with the SSC's Let's Play movement that promotes playing sports for fun. So, I encourage all Singaporeans to get riding and have some fun with OCBC Cycle."

Dear Readers,

Last month marked the start of the new season of the S.League. This month, I would like to draw attention to an electrifying league that is going to start in four days. The much awaited NTUC FairPrice Foundation Netball Super League (NSL) 2011 will start on 5 March and will run for seven consecutive weekends until the finals on 16 April. Do head down and watch and cheer the players as they battle each other at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall.

To all cycling fanatics out there, this is going to be an awesome month for us. I have great news for you.

The month of March is filled with various sporting events for both road racers and mountain bikers.

Scott and myself have started gearing up for the Cyclone Race Series, OCBC Cycle Singapore and the Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore. Both our rusty joints have been greased and oiled as we start preparing and training for the road racers.

For the look, I also recently purchased an eye jacket and a helmet. I loved my patriotic seasoned red and white helmet but after I found a minor crack on it, I decided not to compromise on safety and decided to get a spanking new yellow one.

To all my fellow cyclists, enjoy yourselves and have a riding good time!

- Wesley Lewis

P.S. In case you were wondering, Scott is my trustee bike - the Scott Speedster S5.

And with a list of achievements as long as the distances he runs, swims, and cycles, the team has more than a few things they can pick up from Guo as we go into the month of the Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore Triathlon... Coaches Corner - Bal√°zs Babella   Sportslights - Golf clinics at the HSBC Women's Champions
There was plenty of action outside the ropes at the HSBC Women's Champions which was a bonanza of golf clinics. The Pink Panther herself, Paula Creamer, was one of the golfers who delighted her fans with a personal training session and she was joined by the likes of Amanda Blumenherst and Nicole Castrale among others. But the biggest clinic of all was the tournament itself, giving Singapore's representative the experience of a lifetime... Read More
