Recognised as one the most prominent international championships in the region, the Singapore International Open is running into its 42nd year, with an anticipated turnout of about 500 participants from around the world.
Overseas bowlers from countries that include Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Chinese Taipei, Australia, India Qatar and USA, will be pitting their skills against each other at SuperBowl Safra Mount Faber come 26 May.Bowling enthusiasts can definitely look forward to an action-packed 12-day event that will conclude on a high note with an exciting Stepladders Finals. The Stepladder* will see the top three bowlers from the Masters Open (in both Men’s and Women’s categories) fighting for the top prize on 6 June.
To add to the already-star-studded event, Singapore’s favourite bowlers such as Remy Ong, Lee Yu-Wen, Jasmine Yeong-Nathan and Jazreel Tan will be participating in this prestigious event. Fans who are hoping for Remy to finally clinch the elusive Men’s title this year can certainly expect some stiff competition with the return of defending champion Mr Hussain Al Suwaidi from Dubai.
At the same time, the fun factor will be up a notch for the 2,000 spectators who are expected to turn up to watch the competition. There are fringe activities, including bowling clinics, for them to take part, which will definitely enhance the appeal to this already highly-anticipated annual event.
