Following a perfect weekend with back-to-back victories at the opening round of Formula BMW Pacific 2010, Drivers’ Championship and Rookie Cup leader Richard Bradley of Eurasia Motorsport leads the field of 25 drivers into the next four rounds of the championship.Returning to the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia this weekend, the 18-year-old Singapore-based English race driver is determined to put up another successful showing.

Last month, Bradley made a spectacular debut in his rookie single-seater racing season at the opening round of the 2010 Formula BMW Pacific championship which was held as a support race to the Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix. In both races, Bradley qualified in pole position before going on to take the chequered flag first. He also set the fastest lap timing at both races and the lap record for a Formula BMW at Sepang.

“This is my first season racing in cars and it’s been a sensational start to the Championship. I believe I can continue this into Round 2 this weekend at Sepang and I look forward to raising the Singapore flag high again,” said Bradley.

Having recently moved to Singapore from London to make his foray in single-seater racing, Bradley races under the Singapore flag as his race licence was issued by the Singapore Motor Sport Association.

A multiple kart racing champion back home, Richard has raced at Super KF1 (Karting Formula 1), the highest level of kart racing, and is also a guest instructor at the newly-launched Kartright Academy – a go-karting school by Kartright Speedway, Singapore’s only public go-karting facility.

“Richard is an extremely talented driver and has a very good foundation. We are proud to have him in the team and we are happy to be part of his success,” said Martin Quick, team principal of Eurasia Motorsport.

As part of the Asian Festival of Speed, Rounds 3 to 6 of the Formula BMW Pacific Championship will be held at Sepang on May 15 – 16 with Bradley leading the Driver’s Championship by 12 points whilst Eurasia leads the Team Championship with 14.
