Singapore’s Men’s hockey team bounced back from a disappointing defeat on Sunday to beat Hong-Kong 3-1 in their third match at the Robi Asian Games qualifying tournament in Dhaka on Monday, 10 May.
It was the Republic’s second win in the seven-team tournament and kept them in the hunt for one of six spots available for November’s Asian Games in Guangzhou. Lim Chiow Chuan’s charges opened their campaign with a comfortable 5-2 win over Thailand on May 7, but were stunned 4-1 by Taiwan in their next game.
Coach Lim was delighted his side was able to bounce back from the disappointment of losing to Taiwan to beat Hong Kong, who are no pushovers.
Singapore will next play Oman on Wednesday, May 12, followed by games against hosts Bangladesh ( May 15) and Sri Lanka (May 16).
