Following on from Audi’s sponsorship of golfer Quincy Quek and CIMB Bank’s partnership with 11-year-old Go Kart prodigy, Daim Hishammudin, it seems more and more global companies are backing our Singaporean athletes.
Global brokerage firm Tradition became the latest company to throw their hat behind a local sports star when they signed with one of the Republic’s top golfers, Lam Chih Bing.
The 33 year-old, fresh off his win at the Singha Masters in January, joins a select group of golfers in the company’s stable, including 2005 Caltex Masters Singapore winner Nick Dougherty and Justin Rose.
Lam will sport Tradition’s logo on his right sleeve and will feature in their corporate events and publicity campaigns.
Lam won his maiden title in 2008 when he won the season-ending Volvo Masters of Asia in Bangkok, and became the first Singaporean to qualify and play in all four rounds of the 2008 British Open.
'Tradition is thrilled to have Lam Chih Bing as one of our ambassadors at a time in his career when he is playing some of his finest golf. We are looking forward to this new association with Lam, who is clearly one of the players to watch in Asia and a sporting icon in Singapore,' said Stephen J. Miles, Managing Director, Tradition Singapore.
