Good Mix - Team Singapore’s Sailors Shine In GCE “A” Level Exams
Tuesday, March 09, 2010
Sports and studies are a good mix, going by the performances of top sailors Justin Liu (pictured, right) and Elizabeth Yin in last year’s GCE "A" level exams. The two are among the national athletes who had cause to celebrate when their results were announced on Friday (5 March). Picture by Singapore Sailing.

Sporting Feats
Justin, a former student of Raffles Institution, scored 5As (project work, chemistry, economics, geography, mathematics) and a B (general paper). This is an achievement as the 2006 Asian Games gold medallist had missed classes because of his sailing. Among his sporting feats last year were gold in the Australian National Championships and a fourth place finish (with teammate Sherman Cheng) in the 420 class at the World Championships in Brazil. The 18-year-old next plans to pursue a degree in business or management, possibly in Australia.
