LionsXII returned to their winning ways thanks to a
double from Agu Casmir, as they sealed a commanding 3-0 victory over Sarawak FA
in the Malaysian Super League (MSL) match.
The Lions started the match strongly, making their
intention known to their opponent that they are determined to halt their recent
run of poor form.
Safuwan Baharudin provided that boost as he opened
the scoring account for the Lions in the seventh minute, with a headed goal.

The Lions continued to dominate the game, surging
forward at every given opportunity, while restricting Sarawak to the rare
speculative long-range effort on goal.
The Lions were rewarded on the 38th
minute when Agu Casmir calmly slotted in the rebound after Sufian Anuar's shot
was parried away by Sarawak keeper, Saiful Amar.
It was more of the same in the second half, with the
Lions dominating possession of the ball against a helpless Sarawak side.
Agu Casmir got his deserving second goal of the
night in the 65th minute when Shahdan Sulaiman played him through on
goal. His first shot was pushed away by Sarawak keeper Saiful, but Agu pounced
on the rebound to make it 3-0 to the Lions.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Sarawak
coach Robert Alberts was gracious in defeat, admitting that his team was
outplayed.
“LionsXII played well and they were the better team
today. It was a good atmosphere and we have to learn from LionsXII today. We
lost to a better team and that is football. There's good spirit within the
LionsXII and they have got a good attitude both on and off the pitch,” he said.
LionsXII Coach V.Sundramoorthy was happy with the
important result as he praised the team’s effort.
“After two draws and a defeat, it was good to win
tonight. And it is important for us. For me, Agu is the in-form striker we have
at the moment and he is much more confident in front of goal. “
As for winning the MSL title, Sundramoorthy isn’t
giving up just yet.
“We might just be able to win it."
