Valiant Tampines Suffers Extra Time Defeat

The pain of defeat is always agonising, let alone a one nil defeat suffered after extra time.

Feeling none of the effects of a long plane ride, Tampines put up a valiant effort as they fought the good fight, taking the game to their higher calibre opponents.

Written off by many, even before the start of the game, the Stags were determined to prove their critics wrong, holding out until the fourth minute of extra time before Arbil FC’s, Muslim Mubarak broke the resistance as he popped up to slot the ball past Tampines custodian Hassan Sunny.

It proved to be the decider as Arbil FC held firm, repelling the Tampines onslaught.

Though Tampines did not progress further into the tournament, it was a good experience and the Stags would definitely come back stronger.
