Team Singapore’s Jazreel Tan, 21, was presented with the Bowling Writers Association of America’s (BWAA) Collegiate Bowler of the Year Award at the awards reception held on 20 April, in conjunction with the Intercollegiate Bowling Championships in Columbus, Georgia.
Jazreel had striking achievements in the past few months where she captured the individual all-events titles in the Blue & Gold Classic and the Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic. In the Blue & Gold Classic, Jazreel topped the tournament field with a 211.4 average over nine games and led her team to victory.
Jazreel also finished fourth in the Collegiate Shoot-Out and sixth in the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational and claimed the all-events crown in the Mid-States Tournament. She was also named the Most Valuable Player three of the four All-Tournament teams.
The Team Singapore kegler was the only finalist from Wichita State University female nominees for this year’s award and she will be competing in the Intercollegiate Bowling Championships in Columbus, Georgia.
