Get ready for another sibling duo tearing up the bowling scene. After Cherie Tan’s success in Slovenia on Tuesday, her sister Daphne is making her name known at the 37th MWA Thailand International Open.
 
Tan posted 1594 pinfalls in a nine game sequence with three games per set during the qualifiers, putting her comfortably into the fourth position within the mixed pool.
 
Her compatriots Jasmine Yeong-Nathan, herself one half of another sibling bowling duo with her brother Jason, and New Hui Fen are in the 6th and 7th positions respectively within the mixed pool with a total of 1561 and 1526 pinfalls at the end of a nine game sequence.
 
Now standing in the way for the Republic to win the title are Milki Ng of Hong Kong, Putty Armein of Indonesia and Angkana Netrviseth of Thailand, along with Korean bowlers Kim Ji Hye, Lee Na Young, Kim Eun Jung and Kim Min Sun.
 
Qualifying continues till 15 April 2011 before the first round of Masters for the Open division commences on 16 April 2011 at 10am.
