Dolphins get another shot at the Marlins

Dusting themselves off from Saturday’s semi-final defeat to the Marlins, the Dolphins dispatched the Stingrays with relative ease to earn themselves another shot at the Marlins in the grand finals this Saturday, 16 April.

Coming straight out of the blocks, the Dolphins took the sting out of the Stingrays by whipping them 19-7 in the first quarter. Even with ace goal shooter Tan Hui Yan sitting this game out due to a knee injury, the Dolphins always maintained at least a 10-point lead over the Stingrays right till the final few minutes.

Goal shooter Chen Hui Fen and goal attacker Joanne Loo ensured that Hui Yan’s absence would not have any effect on the Dolphins as their consistency in scoring allowed the Dolphins a 47-40 victory over the Stingrays.

The Marlins may be rubbing their hands in glee at the prospects of facing the Dolphins in the finals as they have a perfect 3-0 record against them. Three time champions Marlins would definitely be the favourites to collect the their first title since 2008 and in the process, a S$10,000 cheque.

However, the Dolphins would be itching to break the Marlins perfect record against them. Supporters will be in for a treat as the Netball Super League final promises to be really exciting.
