Talents in the mood to take down Stags

Do not let their current league position fool you. Beijing Guoan may be fourth from bottom in the league but they have a habit of being giant killers.

The talents have shown that they have what it take to take down the larger clubs in the S-League. Some of their more famous victories include a 3-1 win over Etoile, a narrow 1-0 win over Gombak and a 4-1 thrashing of Home United.

Their current standing can only be blamed on their inconsistency and habit of losing to supposedly weaker teams. They had 0-1 defeats to Sengkang Punggol and Albirex in July.

The Talents went back to China during the long break and it seemed to have revitalized the team. They came out 2-1 victors over Geylang United in a friendly after their return.

The Stags will need the three points tonight to get back to the top of the table. They did run amok over Beijing in their last encounter, winning 4-0 but they may have to sweat it out tonight.

Aleksandar Duric and Khairul Amri both picked up injuries during the two-week national team training stint in Serbia and they will might not be fit to start the match.

Tonight’s match promises to be an electrifying encounter as both teams have enough potential to take the other apart.

Catch the action at Jalan Besar Stadium. Kick-off is at 7.30pm.
