More than 150 youths and bowling enthusiasts gathered at Orchid Bowl at The Chevrons on Saturday, 29 May to pick up a thing or two from the pro. It was none other than, three-time world bowler of the year, Tim Mack who was here to conduct 2 bowling clinics for youths under SBF’s National Youth Development programme, U Bowling Club members and bowling enthusiasts.

Youth sports in Singapore received a huge boost today when the Singapore Youth Sports Development (SYSD) committee unveiled its plans to have up to 26 Satellite Centres for Sports Development set up for selected sports that will be featured at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games over the next two years. The introduction of the satellite centres is part of Singapore’s legacy from hosting of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games to be held from 14 to 26 August 2010.

Registrations for Singapore’s pinnacle running event, the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) 2010, have hit an astounding 20,000 since registration opened just seven days ago. Registration for new category, the Ekiden relay, has already closed with all 100 slots taken up, while only slightly more than half of the full marathon places are still available after more than 8,000 full marathon enthusiasts signed up for the race on 5 December.
