Nicholas Lim Ming Xian of ACS (Independent) awed many with his perfect game on this morning during the Under-15 quartet competition at Orchid Bowl, Orchid Country Club.
 
This is the first perfect game for 14 year old Nicholas, who is participating in the National Age Group Championships for the fourth time. This also happens to be the first perfect game in this year’s National Age Group Championships.

Match Day 2 of the AFC Cup 2010 will see Singapore representatives, Geylang United travel to Vietnam to face SHB Da Nang on Wednesday, March 15.
 
The Eagles opened their AFC Cup campaign with a tepid home draw against Hong Kong side Wo Foo Tai Po, while the Vietnamese pulled off an impressive away victory in Thailand, beating Thai Port 3-2.
 
However, both sides come into this clash having suffered defeats in their respective domestic competitions over the weekend, and both sets of players will be looking to get back on the winning track. Defending V-League champions Da Nang saw their three match winning streak end when they lost to a solitary goal against T&T Hanoi, while 2009 Singapore Cup winners Geylang were trounced 3-1 by S-League newbie’s Beijing Guo’an Talent.

“Not many people get this kind of opportunity", are the exact words filled with expressions of happiness and joy of Garret Tan, 11.
 
In the process of being selected to represent Singapore in the upcoming SEA Age Group Swimming Meet in the Philippines, swimmers Garret Tan and Samantha Yeo were presented the Most Valuable Swimmer award at the 41st Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships held on 14 March.
 
Both athletes met the qualifying time and selection criteria and are currently waiting for the final results from Singapore Swimming Association. They splashed their way to the top, beating all other competitors in the junior category held at Singapore Sports School.

Every Lion has its (retirement) day, and for 31-year-old Lions’ skipper Indra Sahdan Daud, playing football for the national team was a privilege that he no longer sees himself fit to enjoy.
 
Speaking to the press yesterday, the veteran striker said, “I won’t be returning in a Lions shirt. I think I have done all I could for Singapore. I will just focus on club football from now on”.

The World Netball Championships will come back to Singapore once again in 2011. The event will see 16 nations, including hosts Singapore, battle to be crowned the world's best. Molly Rhone, president of the International Federation of Netball Associations (IFNA), was in town recently to oversee preparations for the eagerly-awaited event. Meeting reporters at the Rendezvous Hotel, Singapore on Monday, March 15, Rhone was extremely satisfied with preparations for the tournament.

Committed to promoting social cohesion through community self-help, the North East Community Development Council (CDC) organised its first ever North East Run 2010 at the Pasir Ris Park on Sunday, March 14. This run was also in support of the Singapore Heart Foundation and the Go Red for Women campaign.

More than 2,300 men and women braved the sea and asphalt to be a part of the Singapore Biathlon 2010 at East Coast Park on March 13.
 
It was a record turnout for the largest and most competitive biathlon in its 10th year along with a brand new run-route and new categories, the Men’s Youth and Women’s Youth.

Defending champions Sneakers Stingrays opened their Fairprice Foundation Netball Super League 2010 campaign with a comprehensive 43-36 win over rivals M1 Sunfish on Saturday, March 13.
 
The Stingrays were 6-0 down midway through the first quarter, but a resurgent third quarter performance led by their goal attacker Diana Chew, who finished with 26 points for the night, steadied the ship for the Stingrays as they hung on for the opening win.
