Japan's Ai Miyazato has made it two wins in a row after clinching the HSBC Women's Champions on the final day of competition.
 
The 24 year-old, shot 69 in the final round for a final tally of 10-under-par 278, two shots better than American Cristie Kerr, who finished second at 8-under-par 280.

That cliché has never been truer than in the case of 49-year-old Juli Inkster.Consider the fact that Inkster, who shares the lead entering the final round with Ai Miyazato, won the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year award in 1984.Then consider that Ai Miyazato was born a year later in 1985.

Stanford, Kim lead HSBC Women’s Champions after 36 holes. American Angela Stanford and South Korean Song-Hee Kim share the 36-hole lead at 5-under-par 139 at the HSBC Women’s Champions in Singapore. Stanford, who bogied the par-4 18th hole to drop into a tie with Kim, was one of four players who shared the first round lead at Tanah Merah Country Club.

Rolex Rankings No. 1 and inaugural HSBC champ Lorena Ochoa birdied two of her last three holes to tie for the first-round lead with three others at the HSBC Women’s Champions on Thursday.  Ochoa, who won the Singapore-based event in 2008 by 11 strokes, overcame bogies at 12 and 14 to shoot 4-under-par 68 on the day.  She is joined by 12-time Tour winner Cristie Kerr (37-31=68), who birdied five of her last six holes, Angela Stanford (34-34=68) and Hee Young Park (34-34=68).

S-League holders SAFFC kept things compact at the Hanghai Stadium to hold AFC Champions League newboys Henan Jianye to a goalless draw in their opening game. A luckless Henan side were left rueing several missed opportunities and close encounters after dominating large parts of the match and hitting the woodwork on several occasions.
 
For the Warriors, goalkeeper Shahril Jantan deserved the Man Of the Match award, after pulling off several top drawer saves to enhance his growing reputation.
