Team Singapore face Myanmar in their AFF Suzuki Cup Group B encounter tonight at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam
looking for a win to get their Suzuki Cup campaign back on track after they were held to a 1-1 draw by the
Philippines.

 

There will be some changes to Team Singapore who will be without experienced central defender Daniel Bennett because of
a knee injury. In his place will come Precious Emuejeraye, while winger Ridhuan will likely start in place of Fazrul Nawaz on
the right side of midfield.

The match will be shown “Live” tonight on MediaCorp Ch 5 from 5.50pm and on Star Sports mio TV Ch 115 at 5.55pm.

The flag presentation for the inaugural Asian Para Games took place yesterday, December 4th, at Metta School.

Guest-Of-Honour Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports officially presented the flag to
Mr Henry Tan, Chef-de-mission (CDM) of the Asian Para Games.
Wheelchair racer Mohammad Firdaus Bin Nordin, received the flag on behalf of the contingent.

Tough and gruelling. Expect the unexpected. These are two phrases that many have used to describe Singapore’s largest x-terrain adventure race, the SAFRA AVventura. The event was so tough that some participants could not even complete the challenging 51km race route on foot, bike and kayak earlier this year.
However, for its fifth edition, SAFRA AVventura will be returning on 23 January 2011 with a series of new challenges featuring staggered levels of difficulty to cater to more novices, younger adventure enthusiasts and even families.

A unique showdown is on the cards in both the men’s and women’s Full Marathon categories of the inaugural Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) 2010 on 5 December 2010. This comes after the Singapore Sports Council (SSC), the race organiser, today announced the finalised entry list of world-class elite athletes which includes the likes of recent race winners and up-and-coming runners who will be competing in the event for the first time.

Competing against 22 of the best karters from around the region, James Pull delivered an aggressive performance in the Yahama SL Invitational Challenge 2010 over the weekend. During the final, the 11-year-old Singapore-based cadet karter met with an unfortunate incident as he attempted to avoid a collision. Having to rejoin the race dead last, Pull fought furiously as he overtook 10 drivers on a crowded track.

The Singapore Tennis Association (STA) is launching an unprecedented $500,000 programme to groom two young tennis juniors into becoming world class tennis stars.
 
Under the aegis of a seven-member committee headed by the Madrid Tennis Federation’s (MTF) Tati Rascon, the programme will select two youth between 12 to 14 years of age at a trial at the Keppel Club to be held on 6 to 7 December.
 
“It will be a strict, transparent process,” said STA president Edwin Lee. “The MTF have planned all sorts of physical and mental drills and tests. It’s not just going to be about how well a player can hit the ball.”
