Defending Singapore League (S.League) champions, Tampines Rovers enjoyed a perfect start to their season as they strolled past reigning RHB Singapore Cup winners, Home United with a 2-0 score line to clinch the 2012 Great Eastern Charity Shield title at the Jalan Besar Stadium yesterday.
Enticed by the offer of free entry and attractive lucky draw prizes like iPads and LCD television sets and also 2009 Singapore Idol runner-up Sylvia Ratonel’s sizzling performance, attracted a healthy crowd of about 4000 to witness the two local powerhouses’ battle for the coveted title.
