This blog will capture the rantings of a typical critical Singaporean who is probably a little tubby and living with a chronic condition!

I am new to this community and this portal. My opinion, a Very nice attempt. I was reviewing the site and came across 'learning to play- table tennis' and found it hard to resist making a comment. Since I am new I figured I should start my blog reviewing this  'play' campaign. A good place to start as any.

The learn to play programme- table tennis is expensive. 'You' may want to subsidise the course further if you want to sign on more people. $150 to pick up a game very dear. For $70 one could have more fun learning ballroom dancing or picking up some fancy footwork.

Games like table tennis and bowling are deemed by many as leisure activities. Many feel that one could easily pick up the basics just like riding a bicycle.

If the purpose of this programme is to get people to first play and second to get the basics right, I believe that road shows and more effective in reaching out to capture the imagination of the public. When someone gets more serious about the game would he then wish to commit more time and effort in 'drilling-in' the fundamentals. The basic course may be very good technically but it may also turn some people and casual players away if it is too technical and too expensive! We do live in Singapore afterall and our citizens are all experts in cost-benefit analysis!
